Your annual subscription helps to finance the day-to-day running of a busy,
thriving, self-funded community - its organization and staff and the maintenance of its buildings and facilities.

MEMBERSHIP PROCEDURE
An individual Membership Application form has to be completed by each person in the membership over the age of 21. All children under the age of 21 are covered by their family membership.

Burial Scheme

It is compulsory for all members to be included in our Burial & Cremation Scheme, unless they provide evidence of being a member of another recognised scheme.
For those aged 50 years and over, there is a joining fee.

Personal Proof Both partners of family membership have to become members of the Synagogue, unless there is evidence of one partner being a member of another Synagogue or only one partner is Jewish.
A Ketuba or other documents might be requested.
 
Approval

Applications for membership are considered by the Executive of the Board for approval.
 

Accounts
  • After Executive approval, applicants are advised and are then sent a Synagogue Membership Fee account.
  • On receipt of Synagogue Fee payment, confirmation of membership is sent.
  • The Synagogue accounting year is from January to December and, therefore, all memberships are automatically renewed each January.
  • Resignation of membership must be in writing and received at least three months before the January renewal.
Gift Aid Donations

As a registered charity, Belsize Square Synagogue can benefit from Gift Aid.
Members are encouraged to complete a Gift Aid Form. They will incur no extra cost, but enable us to recover the tax they have paid.
