Second of four sessions: Following his earlier course on Jewish Liturgy, Part 1: Tracing the History of our Liturgy, Cantor Heller invites you to join him for Part 2: Studying the Amidah. The Amidah (standing prayer), also known as the Shemoneh Esreh (18, after the number of sections), forms the core of every service. In this four-session course we will uncover the origins of this central prayer, understand its structure and learn how to recite it.

The course starts Monday 13 October at 8.15 pm and continues on 20 and 27 October and 3 November

No previous knowledge is needed and all are welcome, but please note that Part 3 will continue the theme of Part 2. So attendance is required at this course in order to go on to Part 3.
