Recital: Alice Burla with special guest Maxim Vengerov

18 year old Alice Burla, described by the New York Times as an “extraordinary talent’, is quickly becoming internationally recognized as a serious musician and very talented pianist. Born in Toronto into a family of musicians, Alice began studying piano at the age of 4, made her orchestral debut at 5 and played her first solo recital at 6. Ms. Burla was one of the youngest students ever accepted to The Juilliard School. Since the age of 10, Alice has performed in famous venues such as Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall (New York), ACT City Concert Hall (Japan), Glenn Gould Studio at CBC Radio (Toronto) and many others. She has been featured on American PBS telecasts of “Live from Carnegie Hall”, performed 15 piano concertos with several orchestras, including the Brooklyn Philharmonic, Manhattan Chamber Orchestra and New York Sinfonietta and in 2010, Ms. Burla appeared as a piano prodigy in the 20th Century Fox major film Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, directed by Oliver Stone. Alice studies with Dmitri Bashkirov in Madrid.

Online payment: suggested donation: minimum £20. We are asking for donations to raise funds for Alice’s studies in Madrid and for future musical events at Belsize Square, where we hope to showcase young Jewish talent in collaboration with Maxim Vengerov.
