Israel

Our Annual Dinner raises funds for the following charities in Israel:

  • Yemin Orde Youth Village: a home, school and safe haven to 440 at-risk and immigrant youth from around the world
  • ASSAF: aiding refugees and asylum seekers in Israel.
  • Beit Uri: a village supporting over 100 special needs children, youth and adults

The Dinner has previously supported the Israel Sport Centre for the Disabled and the Jaffa Institute, and members continue to be associated with these charities.

World Jewish Relief (WJR)

World Jewish Relief (WJR) is the British Jewish community’s international humanitarian agency. We have all seen the terrible images of refugees forced to leave their homes and risking all to seek safety elsewhere. Now instead of buying your host the usual gifts, like flowers or a box of chocolates, you can give them a gift card that shows you have donated to the WJR’s refugee appeal.

The minimum suggested donation is £10 per card. They can be purchased through the synagogue office or by clicking here.

Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity

As part of the community’s Auction of Promises, a proportion of funds are raised for Rays of Sunshine, formed to brighten the lives of children who are living with serious or life-limiting illnesses across the United Kingdom.
