Civic service and celebration

May 21st, 2014

Distinguished guests flocked to a civic service celebrating our 75th anniversay, including the Mayor of Camden, Mike Freer MP, the Archbishop of Canterbury’s representative Archdeacon Luke Miller, and rabbis and communal leaders from other Jewish congregations.

The service featured two of our greatest treasures, both saved from Kristallnacht – the beautiful music of Lewandowski performed by the cantor and choirs, and the Alexander Torah scroll from which we read.

Co-chairs Suzanne Goldstein and John Abramson welcomed our guests and Rabbis Mariner and Altshuler each gave moving addresses.

A magnificent Viennese-style tea rounded off the afternoon.
