We begin our musical season with an orchestral concert that takes us back to nineteenth-century Berlin and the music of Belsize Square Synagogue’s favourite composer. New orchestrations of voice and piano music by Lewandowski are framed by the music of Beethoven and Mendelssohn, who were not only the most famous of nineteenth-century German composers but also influenced the work of Lewandowski.
